✱ Dwell on Design 2012

Cerno's Claudo lamp

I'll be heading to the Dwell on Design Conference & Exhibition in Los Angeles at the Convention Center on Friday, June 22nd. I had a great time last year and saw some very creative ideas and products on display.

Last year's keynote was by William McDonough and was truly inspiring with his talk on Cradle to Cradle. This year should be just as inspiring with Cameron Sinclair of Architecture for Humanity speaking. I'm really looking forward to it. One of the highlights for me last year was seeing one of my previous students, Nick Sheridan, showing off his company's beautiful lighting designs (as seen on the left).

What other place can you see all of the latest modern products, fixtures, prefab homes, applinaces and everything design under the sun in one place in one day? Prepare to be inspired.

If you haven't got your tickets yet, what are you waiting for?

Dwell on Design Conference

Coming in June (24-26) is the Dwell on Design Conference in LA. I'm going, and thought I'd let you know about it too.  I missed it last year, but have already registered for this year's conference.

I got the "Design Trade Friday Plus" ticket - it's free if you are in the industry, but there's a catch - to get the free ticket, you have to go on Friday to get the 3 day pass. You can't pick it up on Saturday or Sunday. You also have to send them confirmation that you work in the industry (like a business card). Otherwise, tickets are still relatively cheap ($30-$45) for the other things going on throughout the weekend if you aren't in the approved industries.

You can get tickets here.

There are going to be presentations, an exhibition at the LA Convention Center, and a couple of home tours around LA. You can also get a subscription of Dwell, one of my favorite magazines, for only $10 for the year.

If you are going, let me know. I'd love to meet up. Here's a tentative schedule of the presentations I'm planning on seeing:
